Lemme tell you guys a secret about this past month’s pages….I finished them two days after the month ended. It’s a miracle, I know it. Keep in mind that now it’s August 16th and I still haven’t gotten past scrapping August 3rd. You win some, you lose some.
I love my first two pages of July. I made all the patriotic cards and I think the pages just work pretty darn well. I actually made those cards into a Freebie Friday so head over to that post to download the cards for yourself.
This layout I decided I’d stick with bright colors. I haven’t done bright colors in quite some time and for the rest of the month you’ll see a theme of using a lot from the “Awesome Edition” cards from the Project Life app. Hopefully Becky Higgins won’t care…but I definitely take those cards and edit them into my own creations sometimes.
Inspired by the “photo strip” layout that was popular last month among PL app scrappers I tried a couple full page layouts. Another new thing for me.
No filler cards here. Pictures all the way.
Bright pages!! At this point I switched to the “Hi, Sunshine Value Kit” and I was loving it.
More playing around with whole page layouts by losing the drop shadow feature of the PL app.
If you follow me on IG (@itsalexmarie) you probably saw this collage I made of my husband and I. I already had the collage…why not make it into a layout? I made the second page so it’d keep my month of July to an even number. Lol.
For my last pages I struggled with having enough to fill in the spots so I went with a “July In Review” card I made which I think I may make into a monthly tradition. I also love the “you gotta watch this” card I made. Maybe in the future I’ll make a set of cards that work for featuring QR codes…just a thought. 🙂
Hope you guys enjoyed! Link to your PL or scrapbook layouts if you have them! I’d love to see them!
P.S. If there’s any techniques on my pages you’d like to learn to do just send me a request and I may make a tutorial video to help you out!
